As many of you know, we have begun the process of merging into the guild House of Kael. They are a guild very similar in size and feel to our own and we believe it would be beneficial to both guilds to do this. There are a couple of people I have not yet had the chance to talk with about this...but knowing them I believe they will find it the right thing to do...right Vrael and Linette? Anyway, I will be meeting with some of their officers tonight to talk about some of the details, and where we should go, what kinds of things we should do, etc. One of the things they had asked me to do was put together a list, as best I could, of the numbers of people we are really talking about here. So I have gone through and done my best to put people into 4 categories; Active, Not Active(but still around to some degree), our Military friends, and people I doubt are there anymore. I will not list this final group as there is no real point as they are everyone not on the other lists. If you could please look though this and tell me if there is anyone I missed, or if anyone should be shifted around in category...or even if I messed up and listed a person and their alt...please let me know. Here goes; Active: Skaven Wiler Ikona Threya Ehran Linette Whispr Vrael Baltanok Iato Not Active: Aurias Chari Chandrialla Cilyna Moramier Sarantis Aslilra Girex Cecilia Xandrian Vaejovis Military: Soveliss Staliand Ferion Hatchetman thanks; also, the HoK forum website is tinyurl.com/am8t8

Hmm, I guess I should log in more. I can see where this is needed, but I know nothing about the House of Kael or any of it's members, so I'll reserve judgement until I find out more.

Okay, I just read their Code of Conduct. They're much more into the PvP aspects of the game than I am, but this statement stood out to me
Loyalty is all, so pick a side and get with the program.
My characters are a believer in both sides working together and that the Argent Dawn has the right idea. The whole Alliance-Horde killfest is stupid and the true enemies are the Scourge, the bugs and the Burning Legion. Ehran knows I couldn't even bring myself to attack Blightcaller because it went against character.
While I'm sure they're a nice group of people, I won't be moving to this guild.

We'll have to see where it really goes with them. From my talks with Ksah they do not seem heavily PvP oriented. And I think they are open more to ideas than their charter would imply.
If it really can't be helped then that is too bad. This is something the guild really needs and I have worked very hard to find a compatible guild with good people and the like. I understand it is not going to work for everyone, but I would hope people would be at least willing to give then the benefit of the doubt on things until we get to know them.
The Lords of Animus will not be disbanded so we have time to figure these things out.

Alright, I talked with one of their officers reguarding this tonight. From what they said they are commited to defense of the land. At the time that was from Horde invasion, but with later developments it changed much more into what you mentioned. In fact the person I talked to was the person somewhat in charge of any PvP organization and they are completely against any offensive tactics. I think it will fit for you quite well Citizen, but I do recommend that you talk with Ksah the next time you are on, I really want this to work for everyone as best as possible.

Greetings friends.
I will not be merging with the guild. However, my door is always open (figuratively speaking), and I will always be hanging around these boards.
I spend most of my time on the Thorium Brotherhood server as Komarn these days. However, I can be persuaded to play on the Cenarion Circle again if someone is doing something particularly fun. Just let me know via these boards.
Cheers, Xandrian

Hi everyone, just wanted to send an invite to The Ring of Octagus, we are "casual players"( according to Blizzard anyway) even tho the majority of us are on most every night. lol This guild is based on having fun, we don't PvP( some go into the battlegrounds) we do instance runs but it isn't mandatory that you attend. We DO NOT have any DKP or other rating system if you go in do your best and support the team everyone deserves to walk out with loot other then a repair bill. If you want more info just send a tell to me or Keltoo, we'll be glad to talk with you. Thanks Jeruha By the way I also believe that Argent Dawn know who the true enemy is, I help anyone who is in a sticky situation whether they are Horde or Alliance.

It is a nice invite and the irony of joining a split-off guild is not lost on me lol. I think at this point we will stay with the HoK for a little longer and then decide if it is the right fit. There seem to be enough concerns that it may not work out as well as had been hoped, but it has also been only a week. We will be in touch or course.

Alright, wanted to give an assessment so far for everyone. The guild definatly has the number of people online at a time that I had hoped for (meaning around 10-15 during the evenings), and they are all quite talkative and pleasent. Where things are not as good are in the guild organized questing and raiding. Wiler and I are getting things organized there and we should be able to tell if it will work out within a week or so.
Anyway, if anyone else would like to come over now and try them out, I have benn promote to officer rank and can thus recruit you in. I wanted to also make sure everyone knows that this is not a finalized decision yet though I am hopeful that everything will work out.

Just chiming in, for what it's worth... After getting an opportunity to group with some HoK members the past few days (and having been there for a week and a half or so) I have to say it's worth giving them a chance. Overall, guild is very similar to LoA, most seem friendly and helpful so far. Primary differences being a few more active players, defensive PvP, and focus on preparation for raid content (nothing required though from what I've seen). My initial concern was lack of grouping within the guild for 5-10 man instances and quests, etc., but have seen some of this too the past few days (still think it would be great to see a guild outing night once or twice a week, as was done with LoA). Also wanted to see more forum activity but they all do chat/see each other in game a lot... Anyway, no reason I can see now not to give it a shot. And as Threya said, we can always look at things again in another week or two (will take some time to form a final opinion). Hope to see some more of you back in game soon !
