We have been invited to join a multi-guild alliance name the BCC Alliance. I want to get everyones view on them before I commit us to anything. So, here is the website for them; p097.ezboard.com/bccguildallianceUnder the "Announcements" section there is their charter, please read it and let me know what you think. Also, being that this is a role-play server and oriented thing, it is requested that everyone remain in character (or at least not out of character) for all alliance events and in the alliance chat channel. This is one of the topics that I will be covering at the guild meeting and I would like to be able to tell them our decision by early next week. EDIT: I apologise, there was not supposed to be an 's' on the end of ezboard, this new link works

Ok, Threya, so you want feedback on this alliance. I like the idea of an alliance but I feel the rules that have been set in place in the charter are quite restricting. I understand the need for such things but in my opinion, if you want someone to participate gladly, you dont impose such things. Um, currently with instances I dont mind letting guild members have things, because there arent that many of you and I love you all. however if there were to be such an alliance, it would seem that similar feelings should be felt to the other guild's members.
I think that in this case too many chefs spoil the broth and while an alliance is a good thing, I would be more inclined to keep it down to 3 guilds. maybe 4 at most. that way we cn still get to know the other people in the other guilds.
sorry if this doesnt make much sense. feel free to ask me what i mean by anything I've said. I could try to elaborate further but I will just confuse myself further

My humble impression would be to avoid this.
Try to link up with a small guild allience with tighter unity and less constrictions. 3 or 4 guilds. If we join a large guild allience, it would be for show, a smaller one could serve many useful functions, including raid and battleground groups who work well together.

To be honest my interest in a Meta guild is primarly for end game instances that require a raid. An alliance with 3-4 small guilds would be unlikely able to field a team of 40+ lvl 60's for this. Generally all dungeons can be done by a single, small guild until you complete LBRS, then you are relegated to running the same instances over and over again. In the future I'd like to be able to experience Onxyia's Lair, Molten Core, and Blackwing's Lair and without a large pool of allied individuals. There will never be a pick up group for those instances. Granted I dont want to run these instances weekly or even monthly, but I would like to have an opportunity to see them once or twice....maybe even beat one of the bosses. Try to link up with a small guild allience with tighter unity and less constrictions. 3 or 4 guilds. I agree with this to a point, 3 to 4 guild alliance is optimal only if those 3-4 guilds are large enough to field a group of 40 for high end instances. As for the less restrictions I read the charter and I dont believe there are enough restrictions...let me pose a scenario... There is a guild alliance between Guild A, Guild B, and Guild C. These three guilds decide to go fight Onyxia and an individual from Guild A is selected to be Raid Master(RM). They work past the trash mobs and make it to the Dragon and begin to fight as a team and eventually the beast drops. Guild A, Guild B, Guild C rejoice in their win <insert cheers here>. The loot drops and there are 3 epics which can be used by a wide variety of individuals, how does one decide who gets what without offending everyone? Does the RM decide who gets what and if this happens what would stop him from just giving all the items to Group A? Is it a standard roll? How mad would you get if a druid rolled on Vis'kag the Bloodletter <http://thottbot.com/?i=36128> and won? I'd like to here these issues addressed, generally large raiding guilds use a DKP system for raids so you get points to spend depending on how many raids you've attended and the success of those raids. Also I'd like to have some RP reason why these groups aligned themselves, maybe some IC ceremony...something..... -V

Many good points raised here and I would like to talk about them at the meeting tomorrow. But from the sound of things people are very uncertain as to joining this one at this time. We will have to talk some more and I will raise these concerns with the members of that alliance (perhaps even the best solution will be to simply point them to this forum for descriptions of what we are thinking).

Ok, I see what you are saying here V, and I understand that, but surely we have outside contacts. My brother for instance can get us hooked up with his group of friends cos he does the raids etc everyso often. Other peoploe manage it, I think it can be done without this sort of alliance.
I think how I see it is that this guild is like a family. I'm quite happy to share everything with family but if we brought in the cousins etc I am inclined to take a backward step and sit in the background. (that is my personality though). I like how we are at the moment and I dont want this alliance to have too much of our time
