I cannot seem to get the patch to download, the blizzard updater thinks I am behind a firewall, which I am not. Does anyone know where I might be able to get a third party download for the Mac version? I would really like to see you all again, but at this rate I'm not sure I ever will.

I'm not sure this will do it, but it should be a good place to start. Official Patch InfoFile Shack Download - .exeTech Support Info...with numbers to callI'll keep looking for a solution myself. -Ehran --------------------------------------- I found one link for firewall info from a blizzard wow page that only gave info for Diablo, and WAR II and WAR III. Then, I found this link: www.blizzard.com/support/wow/?id=aww01154p The game has much less issues with firewalls than the downloader does. But, I really like the way the downloader works (when it works), so I'm not complaining. What I ended up doing was fixing my port forwarding on my hardware firewall to cover all the ports mentioned in the link above. The surprise to me was that making these changes live did not cause the downloader to speed up. I had to stop the downloader, then go to my WOW directory and double click WoW-1.2.4-to-1.3.0-enUS-downloader.exe to restart the downloader. Once I did this, the speed issues dissappeared. Of course, I still can't log into the game. The new annoyment is that when you get the can't connect screen and click help, it gives you different firewall info than the two links I found online. I went to those links as well and saw what they had to say. Again, the problem is that I am not running a firewall. Also, the .exe version does not work for Mac's and I can't just get virtual windows and run it that way, unless I want to try to run the entire game via virtual windws which is not a viable option (no 3D card integration for starters).
I have just let the downloader go from this morning and it has been going now for 3 hours and I am up to 3 megs downloaded.
I will try again to see if there is anything I can do for this but I am not sure.

I found a solution that worked. If you right click on the downloader inside the WoW directory can choose the option "Show Package Contents" you can find the torrent file itself (contents/resources). I simply loaded that torrent directly into my normal bittorrent program (Azureus) and let it go. It finished just fine, I copied it back into the WoW directory and reran the downloader. It checked status on the file, found it to be 100% and proceeded to install the patch.
This may be a solution for anyone in the future if they are ever having problem with the Blizzard Downloader being painfully slow.
