Have some good tactics in WSG? Post em here. To start off, I'm gonna post a few of my favorites for getting the flag when the FR is defended by more than a couple of Horde.
The basic tactic for getting the flag is obvious: If you have stealth, use it; the best route in is usually by the balcony, the worst route is the tunnel. Find a spot to hide, wait for people to get distracted and leave the room, then grab the flag and run whichever way they didn't run. You might have a helper or two that run in and try to cause some havoc while you grab the flag and hope that they don't notice. Getting a little deeper into the distraction tactic is the feint:
Standard Feint Number One: The real flag carrier gets in position on balcony or on roof or someplace where they won't be noticed easily. Gather two to three helpers, and have them run their way up the tunnel. Have one person run in a grab the flag (not the real carrier), then run the hell back down the tunnel. Naturally, pretty much every defender will follow them down the tunnel. The other helpers shouldn't focus on attacking too much, but they should be watching the carrier's HP and be ready to grab the flag when it drops. In fact, you really don't want to kill anyone, as then they might respawn as the real carrier is heading past the graveyard. The objective for this kamikaze team is to pull the defenders to about the middle of the tunnel, but not further than the mouth of the tunnel.
Now, as soon as the offensive feint team grabs the flag and heads down the tunnel, the real carrier should move to where the flag respawns and wait for the other team to inevitably return it. As soon as this happens, grab it and head out the top-leading exit. The defenders will run up the tunnel and try to stop you, but the carrier (ideally a Rogue or Druid) should have already sprinted out top-side and should be on their way home. Just hope for some support mid-field if there's a big battle going on there, but otherwise you should be pretty much homefree.
One thing that poses an effective counter to this feint is a smart player who doesn't run back to the flag room when the flag is taken. This is something I do myself: if I'm not in (or VERY close to) the flag room when the flag is taken, I don't run up the tunnel to try to stop them, despite the fact that a majority of the Horde I see run down the tunnel to their deaths. Instead, I'll wait just outside the tunnel, watching that and the GY to see which way they go. Depending on the class, even one of these players can pose a threat to the escaping flag carrier (especially if the carrier is a Rogue, they can only shrug off a snare once every 5 minutes with Vanish). Realistically, if the carrier is a competent Druid, it would probably take two or three players out there to stop the flag runner.
That's the basics of that feint, and feints in general. I've got a few more ideas, but I'm running out of class time, so I'll wait a bit to post them, hopefully I'll be able to test one or two of them during my WSG tonight.
